There is a lot of symbolism that probably goes unnoticed to many. The rose that survived the fire that symbolized the love that would survive to the end. The rosary that fell from his hands in the end symbolizing that he finally chose Meggie over the Church . There are many more.. Also there is one love story totally neglected in the story Fi 's. She loved Patty but was so afraid of being hurt again she couldn't own up to it until he was gone.

I have both of her books. She has such a wonderfully elegant unique innocence to her classical beauty. 💝 “ The Shrimp “ rules. Wish I could meet her.
